Questions

Auto Schedule

Does Auto Schedule change my roster?

Not until you apply it. A run answers with a proposal on the board. Nothing is saved until you select Apply, and Discard leaves the roster as it was.

What data leaves my environment?

A copy of the period you plan. People travel as placeholders, with their roles, hours, agreement rules, and unavailable, preferred and unpreferred time. No names, notes or contact details leave. The Optimize dialog shows the exact data before your first run.

How many runs can we make?

As many as you need, within fair use. Each run gets time in proportion to the size of your roster and stops when it stops finding a better one. Your organisation can have two runs going at a time.

Why are shifts still open after a run?

No one could work them without breaking a rule every run keeps: the role, time off, hours, a Must rule of their agreement, or another shift at the same time. Select Why not…? on the shift to see why a person could not take it. Add people with that role, change the shift, or fill it by hand. See Auto Schedule.

How do I stop Auto Schedule moving a shift?

Pin it. A pinned shift stays as it is: same times, same person.

Rostering

Who uses the app?

The people who plan and set up the roster, with the Chrona Workforce User or Chrona Workforce Admin role. The people you roster are rows in People.

Why did my shift go back when I dropped it?

A rule set to Block stopped the move, and the board says which. The rules are on your calendar in Scheduler calendars: Skill rule, Availability policy, Overlap rule and Working hours rule. Set a rule to Warn to allow the move with a warning.

Will Generate overwrite my changes?

No. Generate adds the shifts that are missing and removes the extra shifts nobody has touched. A shift that you edited, assigned or pinned stays, with a note.

Why is there no Generate button?

Generate shows when your calendar has active templates. Check that your templates are Active and that their Calendar is the board’s calendar.

Billing

Does a proposal we discard count towards billing?

Yes. Each person a run assigns counts once in the billing period, whether you apply the result or not. More runs in the same period do not count them again. See Plan and billing.

What happens if a payment fails?

Everything keeps working with a warning until the date that Plan and billing shows. After that, Auto Schedule and Generate pause until the invoice is paid. Rostering by hand, editing and publishing keep working, and no data is locked.
